In our sector’s jargon, an interpreter is someone who works by talking in several languages, while translators are the specialists writting a document from one language to another.
At Lingland we have specialised translators whose main job is to receive documents and work on the computer to produce an exact transcript -in english or in a foreign language- of the contents of the document.
These translators are familiar with the specialised legal, medical and social terminology that are not like day to day language, but have precise meanings and uses in their context and field. They are also trained to produce replicas of the original document layout so you can easily see what was translated from where, should you need to crosscheck.
Every document can be returned over standard formats (.docx, .pdf, email or their open source equivalents) at no extra cost. We can also quote you for special formats for flyers and other media, like indesign, since at Lingland we have the expertise and run our full Adobe professional license.
We have a standard minimum cost per 1000 words or less, and then pro-rata over this. While most of our translators work with our standard rates, some of the more rare languages may have special prices. In this case we will always contact you with a quote first asking for your aproval, even if you didn’t request one.
How to request a translation
To request a translation you can use our online form
As soon as we receive your request we will check the contents, format and language and send it to the best translator for the task. You will receive confirmation emails when the job has been received, initiated and when it is completed. You will then have a chance to review the translation and ensure it meets your needs, or request a revision.
Certifications
Lingland provides a certificate of accurate translation at no extra cost, just tick the request box on the form. Special certifications for some legal or court procedures, or some rare languages, may have an aditional cost depending on the translator. We will include these extra fees in any quote
